what districts would LIs even be from? or at least which one of them would be from nests?
like I'm pretty sure whitney grew up in backstreets, and with how clueless sydney is i'd almost call them a nest dweller
...on the other hand, we already have the city's Britain...
Crack my fingers and open your eyes. I'm gonna write about this in FULL THROTTLE as I've been thinking abt all this for THE WHOLE MONTHS.
WARNING: some aspect might spoil any of the lore related to both medias That's an interesting question... Personally I do think they all collectively came from District 20 LOL BUT YES, defo Whitney came from Backstreet, District 20 nonetheless. I can already imagine them ever joined Dead Rabbits at some point if they didn't decide to enter any Wing or pursue higher education (as per Vrel ever mentioned how Whitney might wants to be a doctor.) Robin... I personally enjoy the idea of them coming from District 12's Backstreet when Lobcorp. still running as the Wing. Or maybe D22 where Vergilius orphanage is on. Ok no, I'm joking, that's gonna be a bit painful but kinda interesting scenario alright. Other possibility I have in mind is that Robin might be living in District 21's Backstreet, right at the coastal area that's under Middle's control. In this scenario, Bailey themself might be someone involved with The Middle. Probably a Big Brother/Sister. As for Sydney, I could imagine them came from Nest K, or at least Backstreet area in D10 that's under Dieci Association's control. This can play into an interesting scenario of how Sirris (who I could see might be working for K Corp. or any high school in Backstreet 10) met their partner, which I can already see very fitting to be part of Dieci. Oh on the side note, River is defo a Dieci alright. That fist filled with knowledge say it all LOL Kylar... ISTG I can't not imagine him as Edgar Linton HFVJSFVHSD but yes, they might be a rich Backstreet dweller but with family involved/under the protection of/influenced by The Ring. Or hell... What if they're involved with Church of Gears instead. That'll be pretty fun idea to think of... Alex... I can imagine them to be on the well-off side of Backstreet dweller. As District 19 is under S Corp. that run in agro-industry bizz, I might put them here. HOWEVER, seeing how adamant many people wants to leave District 19 (Yi Sang, Blade Lineage), it's a little hard to imagine them staying on District 19 either. Though I might change this once Don's Canto drop, which could possibly take place in either District 20 or District 19. As of now, I can think they might be coming from Backstreet T, probably on the same area where The League of Nine used to live on. ... Which then also make Remy possibly a D19 dwellers as well! However, I can see them as one that's backed out by syndicates instead. A big shot one, that is. Move on to Avery. Definitely some hot shot in T Corp., could be Class 5 worker. Them being 'interested' in science (or that's how they claimed to be when we met them as PC for the first time), rich, gaudy, and all that kinda scream a Feather to me. Could be one that involved with some Syndicate as well. The Thumb, perhaps...? Oh, as I write this, I found that northern area of the City supposed to be a lot richer and developed. That might be where they came from too. However we couldn't make any assumption yet as this part of the City hasn't get much attention from any of the game/media. With how keen they're to stay out of The Town, can I say Eden might be Outskirt dweller...? Maybe someone who used to be someone from the City but decide to pull off? Perhaps even might be someone that ever put some hands on The Light project while not directly took part of the group. I can imagine them as someone living on the outer area of Black Forest, alright? Like, maybe someone that knows about the Three Birds and been telling people off. Maybe in Ruina era, they ended up joined the Library once it got yeeted to Outskirt lol who knows. AND OF COURSE, we couldn't talk about LIs without talking about the beasts! Both Great Hawk and Black Wolf is under Site X-394 trust me. I can already see them on Outskirt, alright. Probably not on the same part of Outskirt as Eden but still around that area.
AND WHILE WE HAVE FINISHED THE LIS, I might as well talk about some of the People of Interest as well. THERE'S TWO THINGS I CAN THINK OF ABOUT WINTER: Either a Claw/Arbiter, or someone that used to take part in Smoke War or the War between Wings. If he was a veteran of Smoke War, I can see them on the winning side, or someone that's ended up like Salvador. Perhaps they might be retired fixer too, an Ex-Dieci that used to be the one who did Ruins-delving to retrieve Relics. Wren is defo someone who visit Backstreet J often, might even be District 9 dweller. They might be one with a Nest permit but not really living on the Nest themself. Hell, they could actually run a bizz on Nest as a way for them to smuggle things to-and-from Backstreet J. Though them as part of a pirate syndicate that deals more in smuggling bizz is a good possibility too, alright. Zephyr is, clear as a day, as part of pirate syndicate OR sailor ship akin to the Pequod in either of the coastal districts. I can see them as part of the Twinhook, though they might run their own syndicate instead. I have two ideas for Ivory Wraith in mind, according to "which" we're talking about. As an actual person, Ivory might be part of Index who had a clash with Church of Gears and fallen victim. However if we talk about them as the Spirit, I can imagine them as something like Bloodfiend. In a way, a nonhuman born out of Distortion-esque phenomenon. Harper... What can I say about them but Dongrang? LOL. I just can imagine them as a big shot on K Corp. that's close to who Dongrang is. Someone influential enough to be taking care of Teary-Thing. Yeah, something along that line... If not, they might run their own clinic that provides healthcare, but of course with whatever The City-esque business backed it. With the new Dieci Association updates I can confidently say that Jordan is, without doubt, a Dieci's Saint, at least on Section 4 or 5. If not, at least he's at the same level as Dieci Meur. One thing for sure, Niki definitely NOT from District N. They'd disappear as soon as they whip up a camera. N Corp and its Taboo is just something... As for the others... I have no idea yet, but maybe I'd came up with one later on!

Arthur Streeton - The River, New South Wales, 1896, Australia, oil on canvas; The Purple Noon's Transparent Might, Sydney, New South Wales; The Murray and the Mountain, 1930, oil on canvas
Sir Arthur Ernest Streeton (1867–1943) was a great Australian Impressionist landscape painter. He was born in Duneed, Victoria, Australia. Aged 15 years, he began night classes at the National Gallery of Victoria School of Design. He also learned the rudiments from studying art manuals and photographs.
At age nineteen, he began an apprenticeship as a lithographer. He also joined a painting group where he painted plein air, alongside Tom Roberts, Frederick McCubbin, and Louis Abrahams. He soon became a full time painter and developed a friendship with Charles Conder. The group of artists often camped and painted outdoors at Box Hill, Heidelberg, and the Yarra. They also provided art lessons and formed the Heidelberg School. During the 1890s, Streeton traveled further inland in New South Wales to explore the outback and the Hawkesbury River.
Streeton traveled to England. He took some time to adjust his artistic identity and become acquainted with very different landscapes. His best market was sending his English works for sale in Australia. Gradually, he began to win recognition in England, France, and the United States.
In 1915, Streeton served as a private in the Australian Army Medical Corps. After three years, he was appointed an official war artist and painted the Western Front in France. After the war, Streeton returned to painting romantic visions of the Australian landscape. By this time, he was a well-established painter. In 1937, was knighted for services to the arts.

One Door Closes
I was asleep, in a deep trance, I felt like I was floating. It was serene. A warmth of mother’s embrace held me. I was never in the richest family, but mother always provided when she worked at Lobotomy Corporation. Even when I was attacked as a child, I persevered, I felt fine. It was stressful, but in the end, it was another experience for another kid. Charlotte Jekyll was a wonderful woman. Everybody called her Sydney for her bright and charming personality. She didn’t deserve to die the way she did.
My good pal, Hastie Lanyon was a dollop of searing sunlight in the freezing void. My eyes closed, I heard memories of our laughter, mine was much louder naturally, as I always had been one for a hearty laugh. He knew that. He was stoic, and sometimes even hotheaded, but that’s what I loved about him. He always got my back when I had his. He didn’t deserve to die the way he did.
Poole was a family acquaintance for years. He was cold, kept to himself, and usually opened up only on his own terms. Nevertheless, he helped me get through mother and Lanyon’s death. He even gave me advice on my research every now and again since. With eyes shut, I heard a pot of bubbling soup, a recipe he had developed. He didn’t deserve to die the way he did.
I then opened my eyes.
I was floating in the ocean of red I stranded myself in. That warmth I felt was the last thing mother gave me before I split her open with my bare hands. Lobotomy Corp. is long gone. Nothing else could provide. Put food on the table. Lanyon’s petrified and disfigured corpse lied there in the eyes I couldn’t see through until I opened them. The laughter I heard was my own echoing through the room painted in scarlet. His face stone cold, and pale white as if his extremities collapsed and shut down right then and there, before they were torn right out of his body. By my hand. The bubbling I heard that was thought to be a pot of soup bubbling over as Poole’s heart pulled straight out of his chest, beating in my palms. Before I crushed it, ending its beating.
Heavens know how many more I killed.
I was wide awake. And I loathed the feeling. That day that mother was buried was the day I, Henry Jekyll, died with her.
The day that I died with her, the day he was born.
The day he was born, the day I woke up.
Whatever way I die, I know I deserve the worst. A murderer like me deserves no pity. I hope I die a horrible death.
When one door closes, another should be locked and left behind, to never be touched again.

Olivia Swann is the first to acknowledge that NCIS: Sydney‘s Special Agent Michelle Mackey has been a bit “blunt” thus far — though the English actress’ preferred adjectives are “fiery,” “maverick” and direct.”
That early read on the merged NCIS/AFP teams’ leader may be about to change, however. Because the first international NCIS offshoot’s fourth episode, airing tonight at 8/7c on CBS, will shed some light on why Mackey is the way she is.
Thus far, as referenced in the premiere, we know that Mackey was a Marine Corps helicopter pilot who at some point faced a court martial for an unknown incident, but was found not guilty. (It was during that court martial process that she first met NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson, back when he was a JAG.)
This week’s episode, titled “Ghosted,” will fill in some blanks on the aforementioned incident, after a U.S. petty officer’s body is found dead in Sydney’s historic and haunted Rocks area.
TVLine spoke with Swann about the imminent reveal, her commute to Australia, and what those time-traveling (and, sigh, cancelled) Legends of Tomorrow must be up to these days….
TVLINE | Mackey thus far has been taciturn, brusque…. What words are you comfortable with to describe her? I mean, I’d say fiery, if anything. She’s very strong, fierce, a maverick, very tough, blunt, direct.
TVLINE | But this Tuesday’s episode sheds some light on why that is? It sure does. This episode is definitely a turning point in the Mackie that we already know. It definitely adds another level and a layer to who she is.
TVLINE | Did you know the details of this dark part of her past going in? Was that part of what drew you to the role? I actually know quite a fair bit about her. And this was part of it. When I auditioned, usually you get a bit of a breakdown of the character, but with Mackey it was about 2-1/2 pages. So already I was like, “Well, this is fantastic! There’s so much to work with already.” And then once I got the role, I sat down with [showrunner] Morgan [O’Neil] and instantly was like, “Tell me even more, I want to know everything about this woman.”
Tumblr media
TVLINE | Between last week’s episode — where she told Blue, “Take a breath” — and the reveals of week, do you think Mackey is becoming a warmer colleague to the rest of the team? Or at least someone that the viewers will to start to warm up to and better understand? I think so and I hope so. I know that she was the kind of character that when you first meet her, you can be quite taken aback by her directness and her bluntness, which I love — but I do understand how she can come across. But definitely, we are starting to see a Mackey who is warming up slightly and actually genuinely developing a genuine like for her fellow teammates, whether she’d admit that outright or not.
TVLINE | This week’s episode kicks off in the Rocks section of Sydney, which is apparently haunted in real life. What sort of “ghost stories” did you hear? I actually didn’t hear any ghost stories, which I’m glad about, because I scare easily. [Laughs] So, if someone had told me them before going, I would not have gone. I didn’t even know that it was really haunted while we were filming — so again, thrilled that I didn’t know that.
TVLINE | What has been the most interesting area of Sydney for you to visit so far? Oh, interesting…. At the beginning of Episode 2, where they find the body in the water [Cowan Creek in New South Wales], that was really awesome. But a lot of the crew told Sean [Sagar] and I that there were these things called “croc holes” where crocodiles live and will come out and attack you, so we spent a big portion of that shoot being terrified… before learning that they don’t exist.
TVLINE | Had you ever been to Australia before? Was this commute a consideration that you needed a moment with before you said yes? Absolutely not. I was like, “Can I go tomorrow?” I’ve never been to Sydney before, so when someone is like, “Hey, go to Sydney for five months and shoot a really cool series,” hell yeah I’m going. I never feel like attached to any one place, so I don’t really get homesick. I will happily uproot and go anywhere for work, and feel as home there as I do here in London.
Tumblr media
TVLINE | Lastly: Are the Legends still in the time prison, you think…? Oh yeah. Come on, get us out! Astra’s probably there ruling somehow, she’s definitely got a team of minions doing her bidding. But does that mean Sara’s had a baby in prison…?
TVLINE | Oh, right. That’s sad. But a fun story to tell the kid when it grows up. You know, it is. [Laughs] We always had this envision of doing a cellblock tango number [if there was a Season 8], that’s what we pitched to everyone.
TVLINE | Were you sad that fans never got true resolution to the show? Yeah. I mean, we were all really sad because I think it would have been so fun just to at least go out on our own terms. But having said that, I mean, I might not be here promoting NCIS: Sydney if it had — so everything happens for a reason.

Proposed density reforms expose NIMBYs as racist
Those with influence—often white and privileged—shape policies and practices that adversely impact non-white immigrants and the Indigenous.
Communities of color, especially Indigenous Australians, suffer from discriminatory decisions that seek to preserve white majority culture on a council-by-council basis.
Hiding behind "Heritage listings" or NIMBY-ism to protect "the character" of a white-majority suburbs needs to end.
Those in opposition to COMMON SENSE density improvements near train and metro lines may not realise it, but their talking points are mostly racist dog-whistles.
News Corp, of course, has plenty of coverage of the NIMBYs and their pathetic battle cries:
https://www.news.com.au/national/nsw-act/politics/sydney-mayors-antidevelopment-protesters-hit-nsw-parliament-iagainst-increased-density/news-story/cd8d673206b2efda374d2b9cf814863e
Australia’s capital cities, especially Sydney, grapple with a complex web of real estate practices that shape urban landscapes. Three significant phenomena—redlining, community-led NIMBY-ism, and the strategic use of heritage listing—are interconnected and deeply rooted in racism.
Let’s explore how these practices intersect and perpetuate inequality.
Redlining
Historical Context: Redlining emerged in the late 1930s in the United States. Real estate professionals and public sector actors developed color-coded maps to assess areas’ “riskiness” for housing investment and mortgage lending. These maps explicitly relied on racist assumptions, blocking Black households and other communities of color from homeownership opportunities based on race, ethnicity, and religion1.
Australian Parallel: Australia experienced similar discriminatory practices. Although it wasn't called “redlining,” racially biased lending policies existed. Indigenous Australians and non-white immigrants faced barriers to homeownership due to discriminatory practices by banks and real estate agents.
Community-Led NIMBY-ism
NIMBY-ism (Not In My Backyard) refers to local opposition to new developments, often driven by existing residents. While NIMBY-ism can arise from various concerns, it sometimes masks underlying racism.
Racial Dimension: In Australia, NIMBY-ism disproportionately affects marginalized communities. When residents resist affordable housing projects or apartment buildings, they inadvertently perpetuate segregation. These actions reflect a fear of change and a desire to maintain the status quo, which often aligns with racial biases.
Heritage Listing as a Tool of Exclusion
Heritage Listing: Designating buildings or areas as “heritage” aims to preserve historical and cultural significance. However, this tool is increasingly used to block development.
Racial Implications: Heritage listing can reinforce racial disparities. In Sydney, for instance, heritage protection disproportionately favors affluent neighborhoods with European colonial history. Meanwhile, sites significant to Indigenous Australians or other non-European communities receive less attention. This selective preservation perpetuates racial inequality by excluding certain narratives from urban memory.
The Roots of Racism
Implicit Bias: These practices stem from implicit biases—unconscious prejudices that shape decision-making. Real estate professionals, policymakers, and residents may not overtly harbor racist beliefs, but their actions reflect systemic racism.
Power Dynamics: Racism in real estate operates within power structures. Those with influence—often white and privileged—shape policies and practices. Communities of color, especially Indigenous Australians, bear the brunt of discriminatory decisions.
Legacy: The ghosts of historical redlining and discriminatory practices continue to haunt our cities. The denial of housing opportunities based on race persists, albeit in subtler forms.
To dismantle racist tendencies (whether overt or implicit), we must acknowledge their historical roots and actively work toward equitable housing policies.
Australia deserves inclusive cities where everyone has a place to call home.
So do us all a favour and check yourself before you start banging on about "protecting the character of a (white-euro) suburb" or "preserving the (white-euro) history of a street / building / house".

The importance of teamwork preparation should be carefully addressed if you have any ambition to alter your overall appearance and get more toned. It has been shown that strength training benefits everyone, from junior competitors to veterans. Women, in particular, benefit greatly from strength training. Strength training is necessary if you want to alter the way your body looks and achieve that torn" image. Another plus is that strength training helps build and strengthen tendons and ligaments, which efficiently support our joints and reduce the risk of injury from various workouts.
Free loads have the important advantage of being more effective at fortifying the entire body. With only a few free weights, you may perform a wide range of upper and lower body exercises. In general, a free weight or hand weight set is less expensive than a weight machine. Using free loads also makes it possible to mimic real-world or athletic movements. While free loads give the customer free movement, weight machines essentially limit your range of development. This leads us to the disadvantage of using free loads: safety. To prevent harm to muscles and joints when using free loads, the client must exercise a far greater degree of control.

Raytheon receives $4.4 billion contract to modernize F-135 propulsion systems
Diego Alves By Diego Alves 06/15/2022 - 3:00 PM in Military
Raytheon Technologies Corp.'s RTX business unit, Pratt and Whitney, recently secured a contract for modification and supply of engines involving F135 propulsion systems.
Valued at $4.39 billion, the contract is scheduled to be completed in September 2024. This latest modification adds scope for the production and delivery of propulsion systems for the F-35 Lighting II Joint Strike Fighter, including 152 F135-PW-100 engines and 26 F135-PW -600 engines.
In accordance with the terms of the contract, Raytheon is obliged to supply long-term components, parts and materials associated with the F135-PW-100 and F135-PW-600 propulsion systems, along with spare engine power modules and other hardware.
Tumblr media
In 2019, Pratt & Whitney "won" a contract for the supply of 300 F135 engines for US$ 5.7 billion.
Most of the work related to this business will be carried out in different locations scattered in the continental territory of the United States.
Over the last decade, a rapid increase in global terrorism and adverse geopolitical situations across borders have increased the demand for defense products, with combat aircraft constituting the majority of this portfolio.
It is imperative to mention that the F-35 jets built by America's largest defense contractor, Lockheed Martin, enjoy a dominant position in the combat jet market. With the F-35 being one of the highest-level stealth aircraft, Lockheed enjoys a consistent flow of contracts for the production, delivery of associated spare parts and other businesses related to the F-35 jet program.
For example, in May 2022, the company won two significant contracts, worth US$ 632 million and another amounting to US$ 398 million to support the F-35 program. These contracts won by Lockheed also benefit Pratt and Whitney, which supplies the F135 engine that equips all three variants of the F-35 fighters.
Therefore, as the F-35 jet continues to dominate the combat aircraft market, Pratt & Whitney should benefit from the order flow. The last "conquest" of contract is an example of this.
The production of F-35 jets is expected to continue for many years, given the current U.S. government stock target of 2,456 aircraft for the Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy. Consequently, Pratt and Whitney is expected to receive more order entries involving the F-35 program, such as the latest, which should increase Raytheon Technologies' revenue.
In addition to Lockheed and Raytheon, which benefit from the solid production goal of the F-35, Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems are also ready to "receive" more contracts, as both are important partners in the F-35 program.

Northrop provides its experience and low observation stealth technology for the F-35 program. As a pioneer in the development of manned combat aircraft, Northrop has a tradition of providing technological leadership in all aspects of military aviation and aircraft.
Currently, Northrop has a long-term profit growth rate of 6.1%. The estimate for the company's sales in 2022 indicates a growth of 2.6% compared to the reported value of 2021.
BAE Systems' short takeoff and vertical landing experience and aerial system support the combat capabilities of the F-35. The company provides an electronic warfare set for the F-35, including a fully integrated radar, aiming support and self-protection to detect and destroy aerial and surface threats.
BAE Systems has a solid long-term profit growth rate of 7.2%. The estimate for BAESY's sales in 2022 indicates a growth of 25.5% over the value reported in 2021.
Raytheon's shares gained 2.2% last year against the industry decline of 8.1%.
